
Jeff Schmeling serves as director of development for Wasp Barcode Technologies, where he oversees hardware and software development, as well as technical support. In his more than five years with Wasp, Schmeling has taken responsibility for managing product lifecycles and identifying opportunities for new products and services.
Prior to joining Wasp, Schmeling spent three years as vice president of development for Apptricity, a startup company that developed a web-based enterprise expense management system. Before that, he served as a senior software engineer for HillRom NetLinx, where Schmeling developed an electronic patient record system, as well as a nurse call system that tracked the movements of nurses throughout the hospital.
As manager of development for Texas Health Resources, then known as Harris Methodist Health System, Schmeling led development of a multi-hospital inventory management system. He oversaw multiple financial applications, while also implementing EDI systems for billing, inventory and bad debt. In addition, he developed a system to manage respiratory care.
Schmeling earned a bachelor’s degree in technical education from Oklahoma State University, as well as an associate’s degree in computer science from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M University.
