Warranty and Return Policy

Policy Statement
Wasp Barcode hardware products are warranted to be free of defects and/or flaws for a period of one year from the data of initial purchase provided the product remains unmodified and is operated under normal and proper conditions. [Do we want to modify this statement even further if hardware warranties vary by product? This statement used to say that All Wasp Barcode Products are warranted free of defects/flaws for one year. However, software has a different license.]

This warranty is limited to repair or replacement at Wasp Barcode Technologies’ discretion. Wasp makes every effort to respond to warranty claims within a reasonable period of time after it has been notified.

The term of the warranty remains one year from the initial purchase date, not the date of repair or the date of replacement.  The warranty applies to the original owner and does not extend to any product that has been subject to misuse, neglect, accidental damage, unauthorized repair, or tampering.

If, however, at any time you are not completely satisfied with any of our products, simply return them within 30 days of date of purchase, to the original place of purchase, for a full refund.* All returned items must be in like-new condition with the original packing and require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number. *Reseller’s expressed return policy may supersede our own. Please consult with your reseller concerning its return/refund policy.

No other express warranty is given. The replacement or repair of a product is your exclusive remedy. Any other implied warranty of merchantability or fitness is limited to the duration of this written warranty. Some states, provinces, and countries do not allow how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

In no event shall Wasp Technologies be liable for consequential damages. Some states, provinces, and countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

 

Hardware Warranties

Software Warranties

The Wasp Barcode Technologies’ software license extends a limited warranty on all software. Please read the software license for details.


 

Return Policy
Within 30 day of receipt of your order, you may return any item, to the original place of purchase, for a full refund. All returned items must be in like-new condition with the original packing and require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number. If you purchase any product directly from Wasp Barcode Technologies, [this used to say if you purchased any product from the Wasp website. Return Procedures

Damaged Products

Products that arrived damaged should be refused by the recipient and accepted back by the carrier attempting to make the delivery. If a product that has visible damage is accepted, the recipient and the carrier must note visible damage  it in order for a damage claim to be filed. Wasp Barcode Technologies must be notified within 2 business days of the damage, and the product must be saved and kept in the original condition in which it was received. In order to receive a replacement product, the recipient must send to Wasp the following documents, postmarked within 5 business days of receipt of the product: a copy of the damage notification document from the carrier and the  signature of the receiver.

 

Defective on Arrival / Defective Products Returns
The reseller or consumer bear sole responsibility to notify Wasp Barcode Technologies of any product that they receive that is defective on arrival (e.g., the product has no power).  Notification should be made within 30 days of receipt of the product. Wasp Barcode Technologies requires that all DOA products be returned directly for replacement. Monetary refunds, product exchanges, or product upgrades/down grades will be handled through the reseller or distributor of purchase.

 

Return Procedures / Shipping Requirements
The purchaser must meet the following requirements to return any product to Wasp Barcode Technologies or any of its resellers or distributors:

  • Contact a Wasp customer service/technical support representative. [Ok to contact either customer service or tech support? Please verify.]
  • All product returns to Wasp Barcode Technologies must be accompanied by proof or purchase, such as the original purchase receipt, invoice, copy of order or an emailed version of these confirmations.
  • Refund transactions through Wasp Direct will require an RMA Number, which can be obtained by contacting Wasp customer service. [Ok to contact either customer service or tech support? Please verify.]
  • No refunds will be issued without an RMA Number and proof of purchase from Wasp.
  • No refunds will be issued for products not purchased directly from Wasp Barcode Technologies.
  • Consumers must return products to the original place of purchase for monetary refunds and are subject to the expressed return policy of said reseller.
  • Consumer must submit a repair form for any warranty-covered product replacement/repair returns that are being sent directly to Wasp Barcode Technologies. Repair forms can be obtained by contacting a Wasp customer service/technical representative or from the Wasp Barcode Technologies websites. [Where it FTP?]
  • Proof or purchase is required for warranty repairs and replacements and must be submitted along with the repair form.

 

Product Acceptance
Returned products that do not meet the following specifications are subject to refusal and may be returned to the Consumer or reseller:

  • Defective on Arrival products must be unused and returned in product’s original state. Please refer to the section about “DOA” returns.
  • All products returned to Wasp for monetary refunds must have been purchased directly from Wasp, be accompanied by a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number (contact Wasp to obtain an RMA Number) and proof of purchase, and be in the original packaging, including all materials pertaining to the product, such as the cables, manuals, power cords, power supplies, batteries, software, etc.
  • Products must be absent of visible markings, such as magic marker, pen ink, labels, stickers, paint, oils and grease, Velcro, glue, tape, etc.
  • Products must be absent of physical damage, such as scratches, cracks, chips, tears, dents, compressions, etc.
  • Include only one RMA Number per carton.
  • After issuance of an RMA Number or repair ticket, the package must be returned within 10 business days or the product will be subject to refusal.
  • Products must be secured properly for shipping and packed appropriately. When shipping printers, all media, including labels and ribbons, need to be removed from printer, lid secured, and placed in original foam pack material.) Insurance Recommendation
Wasp Bar Code Technologies recommends that the Consumer fully insure the return shipment in case of loss or damage during transit. It is recommended that the Consumer keep a record of the shipping manifest and the tracking number. Wasp Barcode Technologies is not responsible for lost and/or damaged goods during transit. The consumer assumes sole responsibility of products returning to Wasp Barcode Technologies. Products not returning directly to Wasp Barcode Technologies are under the guidelines and policies of said reseller. Please check with your supplier for their specific returns instructions and procedures.
