“With AssetCloud + RFID, we’ve cut the time it takes to complete our annual inventory in half. The system is fast, accurate, and easy to use.”
-Roger Ward, IT Support Supervisor, Maricopa County

The Client

The Human Services Department of Maricopa County delivers critical support programs that strengthen communities and improve quality of life. Services include Head Start, job training, independent living assistance, home repairs, rental and utility support, and aid for people experiencing homelessness.

The Challenge

The department was relying on a 20-year-old Microsoft Access front-end running on Windows 7. It was outdated, slow, and unsupported. There was no mobile access, no automation, and no way to scale. The system couldn’t meet reporting needs or support a growing inventory. Staff spent hours tracking down assets manually. Delays and inflexible configurations slowed everything down.

The Solution

Roger Ward, IT Support Supervisor, led the search for a new solution. He chose AssetCloud + RFID for its speed, automation, and mobile capabilities. The team needed a system that could streamline their annual inventory process and improve accuracy. AssetCloud + RFID delivered with centralized data access, mobile scanning, and RFID automation.

The Result

Today, 60 locations across Maricopa County use AssetCloud + RFID to track more than 2,000 pieces of IT equipment. The department relies on five Wasp DR6 mobile computers to complete inventory counts quickly and accurately.

“With AssetCloud + RFID, we’ve cut the time it takes to complete our annual inventory in half,” said Ward. “The system is fast, accurate, and easy to use.”

Staff say the system is simple, dependable, and helps them stay organized. Ward also praised the implementation process: “I have nothing but positive things to say about the Wasp team. They stayed within our timelines and removed barriers.” He says he would recommend AssetCloud + RFID to others based on the time and cost savings alone.
