Prior to implementing an asset management solution, the district relied on spreadsheets to manually track items. This process was error-prone, time consuming, and made it difficult to stay in compliance with audits due to outdated records. The spreadsheets made simple tasks such as asset updates and disposals complicated.
After conducting online research, the district selected AssetCloud to resolve their asset management challenges. “AssetCloud is simple to use with an easy-to-understand interface and it met all of our audit requirements,” said the IT Lead Technician with the district. “We also purchased Wasp’s DR6 Android mobile computers, which allow each of our sites to easily audit and maintain their assets.”
Today, AssetCloud is used district-wide to track more than 200,000 assets, including any device valued at over $500, such as Chromebooks. The district has 142 users and has integrated their software with Microsoft System Center, a student information system, and a student textbook system which is used to check-out assets.
The district’s goals for implementation were two-fold: to track assets and to successfully fulfill audit requirements. “Since implementing AssetCloud, we’ve passed all of our asset audits because the reporting is so easy, and the locations are consistently up to date,” said the IT Lead Technician.
District employees find the solution easy-to-use and simple to train others on.
And most importantly, because the district consistently passes all audits, valuable and much-needed funding continues to be available.
