Before implementing Wasp Inventory, Brandables managed warehouse inventory using Excel spreadsheets that had to be created and updated manually. Inventory records were often outdated because changes weren’t always entered, making it difficult to maintain accurate counts.
The manual process was time-consuming, prone to errors, and made it difficult to provide customers with accurate inventory information on demand. To give staff enough time to manually count inventory, Brandables guaranteed customers inventory updates within 72 hours, though requests were typically fulfilled in 24-48 hours. The process also limited the company’s ability to bid on larger warehousing and fulfillment opportunities that required more robust inventory reporting.
“We wanted to have a more professional system in place and eliminate the constant mistakes found in Excel sheets,” said Amanda Wigal-Schlosser, Owner of Brandables.
Brandables implemented Wasp Inventory to replace manual spreadsheet tracking with a centralized inventory management system.
Wasp Inventory tracks customer inventory stored in the Brandables warehouse, including products sold through customers’ e-commerce stores and promotional items reserved for trade shows. As inventory is received and shipped, staff update records in the system, making current inventory information readily available whenever customers request it.
Today, the company manages 549 items for seven customers, with that number continuing to grow as customers add products.
Since implementing Wasp Inventory, Brandables has added four new warehousing and fulfillment clients while completing warehouse projects faster and moving inventory more efficiently. Brandables reduced customer inventory request response times by more than 80%, from 24–48 hours to just a few hours. Staff can now provide customers with current inventory information much more quickly, along with the inventory reports needed to support larger warehousing and fulfillment opportunities.
The transition from spreadsheets has also been well received by employees. According to Wigal-Schlosser, everyone is happy with the system and glad they’ve moved away from Excel spreadsheets.
